Get in mah belly: Aioli Gourmet Burgers to open in Litchfield Park

Aioli Gourmet Burgers, the award-winning food truck and catering company that has been tickling foodie palates across the valley since 2013, is coming to Litchfield Park.

The restaurant, slated to open in April inside Fry’s Marketplace, 13730 W. Camelback Road, is the company’s second brick-and-mortar location. The first opened in 2016 at 32nd Street and Shea Boulevard in Paradise Valley, the neighborhood where the three lifelong friends behind the business grew up.

“Our entire team is so excited to finally be opening a second location, in partnership with Fry’s Marketplace. This has been almost a year in development, and we can’t wait for the store to open for our westside fans,” Aioli Gourmet Burgers co-owner Kyle Hollenbeck said in a press release. “We hope that this will be the first of many Fry’s Marketplace locations across Arizona.”

Burger-lovers hungry for unique, chef-driven creations won’t be disappointed. The menu includes such flavorful choices as the White Truffle Swiss, a Kobe beef burger topped with roasted mushrooms, swiss cheese, caramelized onions and white truffle aioli; or the Italiano, topped with fresh mozzarella, tomato, balsamic reduction, crispy bacon and basil garlic aioli. Restaurant patrons also have the option to substitute lettuce or gluten-free buns for Aioli’s signature brioche buns, and they also can opt for chicken breast or a Beyond Meat vegan patty in place of beef.

Other options include the wedge salad, mac-n-cheese bites, loaded fries, beer-battered onion rings, and premium milkshakes and floats.

In addition to the full-service menu, the new location will feature a cold case with take-home burger kits and condiments including the eatery’s signature aioli sauces so customers can become burger masters at home.

“We are looking forward to Aioli Gourmet Burgers joining the Fry’s family,” Fry’s Food Stores President Monica Garnes said in the release. “It’s a great operation with an award-winning history, and we think our Litchfield Park customers are really going to enjoy the experience.”

Aioli Gourmet Burgers started as a single food truck, the release said, adding that year-over-year, the brand has more than doubled in size and sales with several other food truck concepts introduced, including Modern Tortilla and Oak Wood-Fire Pizza. Today, the restaurant group’s portfolio boasts seven food trucks, two taco carts and a pizza cart, specializing in catering private events, birthdays and weddings.

The restaurant group is led under the culinary direction of Chef Tommy D’Ambrosio, who attended the Culinary Institute of America and completed an apprenticeship at The Greenbrier in West Virginia before returning to his hometown to go into business with childhood friends, Mr. Hollenbeck and Michael Cartolano.

His passion for cooking inspired by his grandmother, Mr. D’Ambrosio grew up combining different flavors to make one-of-a-kind culinary creations.

His culinary creativity paid off. In addition to winning an episode of “Chopped,” a popular Food Network show that tests the culinary skills of four chefs in a fast-paced competition that requires them to use unusual ingredients, Mr. D’Ambrosio has competed at the World Food Championships, and has won numerous awards including the Scottsdale Culinary Festival’s Burger Battle several years running. Aioli Gourmet Burgers also took home the Phoenix New Times Best of Burger award in 2017, 2018 and 2019.
