Estrella offers safe, romantic Valentine’s Day options

Posted

Southwest Valley couples looking for simple and safe ways to celebrate romance close to home on Valentine’s Day have several options in Estrella.

Estrella by Newland, the master planned community in the shadow of the Estrella Mountains in Goodyear, has a number of romantic spots both available to residents and non-residents.

Star Tower

There may be nothing more romantic than stargazing with your partner from atop the Estrella Star Tower, a 50-foot-tall astronomy-themed spiral structure adorned with grey stone and rust-red metal.

Not only is it great for enjoying the night sky, it’s next to a bubbling waterfall for added ambiance. Couples can enjoy the Sonoran Desert scenery and be confident they are complying with COVID-19 health and safety guidelines at the same time.

The tower is on Estrella Parkway at the entrance to the Estrella by Newland community.

Make mine lakeside

With 70 acres of lakes, Estrella offers multiple spots for Valentine’s Day celebrants to spread out a blanket and enjoy a picnic near the water.

Additionally, the Estrella Yacht Club offers unique activities for residents, including kayaking, canoeing, fishing and sailboating.

Romantic restaurants

It’s safe to say that good food is a sure way to anyone’s heart. Estrella is home to many restaurant options, all of which are open to the public and enforcing COVID-19 health and safety guidelines.

Café Bebida in Casa Lucero near the Star Tower is a great spot to satisfy a sweet tooth, with sweet cronnini, locally made gelato, macarons and more, with gluten- and sugar-free pastry options available, too.

Lakeside Grill in Estrella Mountain Ranch’s Starpointe Residents Club pairs hearty American cuisine with lakeside views. Curbside pickup also is available.

Cantina at Presidio in the Montecito community’s Presidio Residents Club offers cocktails and homemade chips and salsa for those who want to add a little spice to their celebration.

Trails and paths

Estrella offers more than 50 miles of trails and paths for couples who want to get their heart rates up by mountain biking or hiking, or those who just want to take a leisurely stroll through the great outdoors.

Those who want to ride but don’t have bikes of their own can rent one from Copper State Bike & Hike, operated by Trek Bicycle Store West Phoenix, in the Estrella’s Lucero village.
