Donna Mae (Soshea) Roth

Donna of Sun City, Arizona, formally of Ottawa, Illinois, passed away February 2, 2021 at Sun Valley Lodge Health Care Center. Donna was born on January 21, 1930 in Brainard, Minnesota to William and Lillian (White) Soshea.
She was a graduate of Crosby Ironton High School and Bemidji State Teachers College as a fine arts major.
She married Joseph L. Roth in Ottawa, Illinois at Saint Patrick’s Church on Valentine’s Day in 1952. He preceeded her in death on March 3, 2007.
Donna is survived by four children: Lisa (Daniel) Cheatham, Ottawa, Illinois and Sun City West, Arizona, Janice (Daniel) Hill, Eolia, Missouri, Wendy Diederich, Sun City, Arizona, and James (Margaret) Roth of Northfield, Illinois; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one sister, Joelle Keprios of Sun City; one brother-in-law, William Roth, Peru, Illinois; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joe; a grandson, Joel Hill; brother, William Soshea; sister, Mardelle Bourdon; five brother-in-laws; and five sister-in-laws.
Donna will be remembered fondly as a loving mother and caretaker for her husband Joe. She was an extremely talented artist, and was very involved in the Ottawa, Illinois and Sun City, Arizona art communities. She enjoyed gardening and was a founding member of the Ottawa Garden Club, she loved to entertain. Donna was active with her church family, she served as a Deacon and as an Elder at her Church, First Presbyterian Church in Sun City.
Funeral arrangements were provided by Best Funeral in Peoria, AZ. Donna’s remains will be laid to rest after cremation at the First Presbyterian.
