Copple: GOP lawmakers ruining America and the Earth

As we watch (or try not to) Putin’s atrocities in Ukraine, back here in Arizona and elsewhere GOP-controlled state legislatures are passing spite and malice laws, which are demeaning to LGBTQ+ people, women and the poor.

And SRP is about to approve a project that will for all intents and purposes will add huge amounts of methane to our air.

Methane is hundreds of times more polluting than carbon dioxide. This project will be unconscionable for the town of Randolph.

For those who live near noisy, air-polluting turbine generators, which will be obsolete before they start and could easily be replaced with other sources of free energy like solar and wind.

And the Arizona Wild West governor and Legislature want to take control of our water. They want to decide who gets water in this state. And you can bet only GOP areas will be first served.

Finally, the GOP led state legislatures are denying that climate change is an extreme threat to our very existence and acting as if ignoring the threat will make it go away.

Sadly, they are aiding as well to the death knell for our pale blue dot in space.
