Constance Marie Kuchtyak, CPS

Connie was born March 13, 1928, to Elizabeth Massopust and Harry Prybylowski in Perth Amboy, NJ. She was a baby of the great depression and a member of the greatest generation. Her parents divorced and she and her brother Leo lived with their grandmother. She was like a little mother to her brother, and they were inseparable. When she was 12 her mother remarried and she was blessed with a wonderful stepfather, Andrew Goscinsky, and the family moved to Avenel, NJ. Connie worked afterschool at the 5 & 10 for 25 cents an hour and spent it all in New York City as a bobbysoxer standing in line for hours to see Frank Sinatra, Tommy Dorsey, Glenn Miller and others. She graduated with the highest honors from the St. Mary’s school system and attended the Washington school for secretaries and MCC acquiring her rating as a certified Professional Secretary and went to work for The Home insurance company. During world war ll she was a member of the civilian Air patrol.
ln 1945 she met George Kuchtyak who had returned from serving his country in the ETO. He told her she was the girl of his dreams and after 2 years they were married on October 4, 1947. They lived an exciting life together for 65 years owning several businesses and travelling on 5 continents and all 50 states until his passing on May 31,2013 at the age of 90. They were blessed with a son, George, Jr., and moved to East Brunswick, NJ for the excellent school system. ln East Brunswick they were founding members of St. Bart’s RC church and were presented with a Papal Blessing from Pope John Paul ll for their service. They also sang in the choir and Connie taught religious education classes. They were also charter members of Elks 2370. When Connie’s son was 10, she decided to return to work. She worked in payroll for American Standard, Secretary to the comptroller of Cel-Fibe a division of J & J and finally as Secretary to the controller of The New Jersey Turnpike Authority retiring as Disbursements Manager. ln 1992 they retired to Sun City West, AZ where they enjoyed the weather, no shoveling, and the many activities, she belonged to the Sewing, Art, Bavarian painting, Line Dancing, Ballet and Square-Dancing clubs as well as our Lady of Lourdes women’s Guild and VFW Auxiliary. She was diagnosed with MS in 1997. She was an artist with many paintings adorning her home as well as an accomplished seamstress’ when her son retired, he joined them in Sun City West and has been an excellent and loving caregiver. At Connie’s request there will be no services and her ashes will be placed with her husband’s at the National Memorial Cemetery, in Arizona.
