Area students to show off their skills in a West Valley math contest

Eighteen Liberty Elementary School District students will square off in a regional math competition Tuesday, May 11, at the Western Maricopa Education Center.

The 18 students were selected after competing in the district’s Westside Impact Math Challenge. After the competition, three students were selected from each grade level to form teams and their math skills to the test. The students will face off against teams from other West Valley school districts.

The three teams will meet with their coaches for six practice sessions before traveling to the West-MEC campus May 11 to represent Liberty.

Third- and fourth-grade team:
