Arizona Public Service Co.  and its parent company, Pinnacle West, are accepting applications for the Arizona Community Foundation's annual West Valley grants program .

Grants are available to eligible nonprofits across the West Valley, including Buckeye, Goodyear and Litchfield Park.

Application deadline is 5 p.m. Friday, April 30, according to a release.

Since 2001, APS has partnered with the Arizona Community Foundation to provide funding to eligible nonprofits that support growth and community needs in the West Valley.

Agencies eligible for funding must be designated 501(c)(3) nonprofits and must serve in the areas of arts and culture, community development, education, environment or human services.

“At APS, we are committed to empowering local communities through organizations and programs dedicated to improving the lives of Arizonans,” APS Community Affairs director Tina Marie Tentori said in a prepared statement. “The impact that these incredible organizations are having in the West Valley is inspiring year after year.”

In 2020, 16 West Valley nonprofits received a total of $155,000.

Funds went toward a variety of causes, including a literacy program for youth, community food pantry support, career advancement programs, early education initiatives and more.
