Posted
One woman is dead after an early-morning car crash in Glendale where a driver was traveling on the wrong side of State Route 101.
Bart Graves of the Arizona Department of Public Safety reports that at 12:41 a.m. Monday a wrong-way vehicle was traveling southbound in the northbound HOV lane near Stadium Way. At milepoint seven, it struck another vehicle head on.
The wrong-way vehicle was driven by a 24-year old female. She was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The front seat passenger in the wrong-way vehicle, a 26-year-old female, sustained fatal injuries. She pronounced deceased at the hospital.
The driver of the vehicle struck by the wrong-way vehicle was not injured.
Investigators believe the wrong-way driver was impaired at the time of the collision.
