The Association for Career and Technical Education named Susan Leon, an instructional specialist at Western Maricopa Education Center as its new and related services division vice president-elect.
Ms. Leon was named to the position as part of ACTE’s 2021 election for its board of directors.
The association provides leadership in developing a competitive workforce and strives to empower educators from around the U.S. to deliver quality CTE programs that ensure all students are positioned for career success.
Ms. Leon will serve a three-year term, beginning July 2022.
“I’ve really enjoyed all the experiences I’ve had with ACTE, and I think this allows me to gain more knowledge to bring back to the community here with a great organization. And being able to represent West-MEC and CTE in Arizona is really exciting,” Ms. Leon said.
A full list of newly elected board members can be found on the ACTE website.
“ACTE congratulates the winners, and thanks all of the candidates for their willingness to serve and their hard work, dedication, and commitment to the Association. ACTE also thanks all of its members who had their voices heard by voting in the election” ACTE officials said in a news release.
West-MEC is a public career technical education district.
