Suspect arrested in possible Glendale road rage shooting

Posted

Glendale police detectives on Wednesday arrested a shooting suspect who faces charges from a possible road rage incident earlier this month.

Police said Thursday that 22-year-old Rodolfo Sanchez is charged with endangerment substantial risk of causing physical injury; aggravated assault-serious physical injury; knowingly discharging a firearm at a non-residential structure-aggravated assault; misconduct involving weapons-possession of weapon by prohibited possessor; and discharging a firearm within city limits.

Police allege that on Jan. 10 Rodolfo was driving a vehicle in the area of the 5100 block of W. Pasadena Avenue when he fired multiple rounds at the victim, striking the victim’s vehicle and the victim.

The victim, a 40-year-old male, suffered a non-life threatening, single gunshot wound. He has since been released from the hospital and is recovering from his injuries.

Police say Sanchez then fled the area in a vehicle.

The cause of the shooting is currently unknown, and road rage is being investigated as a possibility, GPD noted in its initial report.

Police ask the public to not engage if they are involved in a road rage incident, to contact 911, and to drive to the nearest police station.
