Annual event returns to West Valley

The 5th Valley Spinal Care Superhero Shopping Spree takes place 6-9 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19 at Five Below, 9420 W. Northern Ave., Glendale.

Started in 2015 by a Child Crimes Detective, Superhero September has grown to dozens of events raising tens of thousands of dollars for Child Advocacy Centers serving Glendale, Goodyear, Buckeye, Surprise, Avondale, Scottsdale, Chandler and three centers in Michigan.

To date, events have raised approximately $280,000.

The event is co-hosted by Put On The Cape: A Foundation For Hope (putonthecape.org), which brings comfort and hope to children suffering from acute physical and sexual abuse, and by Heroes United AZ (email heroesunitedaz@gmail.com), an Arizona Based Costuming Charity Group.

Valley Spinal Care presents one of the foundation’s signature events. Shopping empowers child victims served by the Glendale Family Advocacy Center.
