Students give back on Mountain Ridge campus

Posted

Ridge Gives Day was a day of community service on the Mountain Ridge High School campus in Glendale.

As part of #LoveOurSchoolsDay and #MakeADifferenceDay, students donated time to make the community better. DECA, Academy of Entrepreneurship, STUGO, NHS and Best Buddies helped the effort. More than 150 students donated over 600 hours of time. They painted curbs at the school, wrote thank you notes, pried gum off the bottom of tables, made a Best Buddies garden, did a car wash, cleaned Thunderbird Park hiking trail, helped with Recycle your Bicycle, and face painted at the BooFest.

Einstein Bros. Bagels, Fry’s,  Chick-fil-A, Lowe’s and Krispy Kreme also donated.

The school will celebrate Martin Luther King Day with no school Monday, Jan. 20.
