Help raise some green for the American Cancer Society with two events over St. Paddy’s weekend in Glendale.

The 1 KM Kilt Run starts 6 p.m. Friday, March 15 at Westgate Entertainment District, 9425 W. Coyotes Blvd., to raise money for Relay for Life Glendale/Peoria. Early registration is $25 through Sunday, Feb. 17, and $30 until Thursday, March 14. The race-day cost is $35.

The last two years the Kilt Run has raised more than $25,000 and broke the Arizona record for the number of runners in a kilt. All finishers receive a kilt, collectable finishers medal and, for those of age, a Guinness compliments of Kiss Me I’m Irish Run at McFadden’s.

The very next day, the Kiss Me I’m Irish Run Half Marathon, 8K and 4K starts 7 a.m. Saturday, March 16, also in the Westgate Entertainment District. The half marathon costs $70 through Friday, Feb. 15, $75 until Wednesday, March 13. Race-day cost is $85. The 8K run/walk costs $45 through Friday, Feb. 15, $50 until Wednesday, March 13. Race-day cost is $60. The 4K run/walk costs $40 through Friday, Feb. 15, $45 until Wednesday, March 13. Race-day cost is $55.

There will be Irish music and prizes for the best “Irish-themed” running outfits (i.e., green wigs, stovepipe hats, silly glasses, etc.) Additionally - in keeping with the cause - there will be a variety of informational booths and displays from cancer organizations, including from Relay for Life and the Arizona Prostate Cancer Center.

All participants receive a short-sleeved technical running shirt and a finishers medal, plus entry into the McFadden’s St. Paddy’s weekend party, and a complimentary Guinness.

Pre-register at irishrunaz.com or sign up on-site the day of the event, or call 480-609 3978.
