Several Glendale facilities, services stay open July 4

As part of Independence Day celebrations Friday, July 4, the city of Glendale offices will be closed on Friday, July 4, in observance of the holiday.
Many city facilities and services will be in operation for residents’ convenience and entertainment. All residential garbage, recycling and bulk trash collection services will be offered at regularly scheduled collection times.
The Glendale Municipal Landfill and the Solid Waste customer service office will be closed. Visit this site or call 623-930-2660 for information.
For those needing public transportation on July 4, GUS Bus route 1 will operate on a Sunday schedule, but GUS Bus routes 2 and 3 will not be in service.
There will be no Valley Metro Express/RAPID bus service. Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) public transportation service in Glendale will not be affected by the holiday. Valley Metro bus service will run on a Sunday schedule.
The Glendale MicroTransit (Dial-A-Ride) office will be closed. Dial-A-Ride service will be available by reservation only, and reservations must be made by noon July 3. Contact Customer Service at 602-253-5000.
Glendale Public Libraries will be closed on July 4 and will reopen at 10 a.m. on July 5. Residents can cool off in the city’s two pools, which will be open from 1 to 5 p.m. July 4.
Foothills Recreation and Aquatics Center is at 5600 W. Union Hills Drive and Rose Lane Aquatics Center is at 5003 W. Marlette Ave. Glendale’s splash pads will be open from noon to 7 p.m..
The city has splash pads at these sites:
Greenway Granada Park at 73rd Avenue and Greenway Road.
Heroes Regional Park at 83rd Avenue and Bethany Home Road.
O'Neil Park at 64th and Missouri avenues.
Sunset Palms Park at 54th and Sweetwater avenues
Sycamore Grove Park at 86th Lane & Emil Rovey Parkway.
Glendale’s community and recreational centers are closed July 4. For information about Parks and Recreation services and programs, call 623-930-2820.
Glendale Municipal Airport will remain open on the Fourth of July, as it is open year-round. However, the airport administrative office will be closed.
The terminal building will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.. Both the lobby
and restrooms will be available.
