PBR series welcomes Arizona team home to Glendale

Ridge Riders coming off win in Fort Worth

Posted

Competing in the inaugural season of the Professional Bull Riders (PBR) Team series, the Arizona Ridge Riders return home this week for a three-day competition in Glendale.

The new elite league features the world’s top bull riders. The Teton Ridge-owned Ridge Riders team calls Desert Diamond Arena its home, where PBR’s Unleash The Beast series has held events since 2016.

Ridge Rider Days gets under way 7:45 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 14; then 6:45 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 15; and finally 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 16. Desert Diamond Arena, formerly known as Gila River Arena, is located at 9400 W. Maryland Ave., in the Westgate Entertainment District

This past Sunday in Fort Worth, Texas, in PBR Team Series competition, the Ridge Riders and Nashville Stampede went head-to-head in the championship, both chasing their first game win at PBR Rattler Days. The Ridge Riders defeated the Stampede by one bull, 176.5-83.5.

Courtesy of the win, Arizona improved to 1-2 at PBR Rattler Days and 13-11 during the 2022 season.

Team formatted bull riding events have been growing in popularity since the debut of the PBR Global Cup in 2017, which has increased interest in the league.

The full PBR Team Series league roster includes:

  • Ariat Texas Rattlers, based in Fort Worth, Tex., owned by the Fisher family
  • Arizona Ridge Riders, based in Glendale, owned by Teton Ridge
  • Austin Gamblers, based in Austin, Tex., owned by Egon Durban
  • Carolina Chaos, based in Winston-Salem, N.C., owned by the league and operated by Richard Childress Racing
