The American Association of University Women, Northwest Valley’s Arizona Adventures Special Interest Group ventured to the Heard Museum in Phoenix recently.

The American Association of University Women, Northwest Valley’s Arizona Adventures Special Interest Group ventured to the Heard Museum in Phoenix recently.
Members learned about the Hopi, Navajo and Apache Indian tribes. There were many permanent exhibits such as jewelry and art, and works of the past Native American artists to better understand their culture and history.
The American Association of University Women (AAUW) is a leading voice in promoting equity and education for women and girls. Since its founding in 1881, AAUW members have examined and taken positions on the fundamental issues of the day.
AAUW advances gender equity for women and girls through research, education and advocacy.
The Northwest Valley branch of AAUW features members from Glendale, Sun City West, Sun City Grand, Surprise, Sun City, Peoria, El Mirage, Buckeye, Wickenburg and Cave Creek.
Membership is open to anyone holding an associate’s degree, bachelor’s or higher degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
