Midwestern University, 19555 N. 59th Ave., Glendale, is working to adapt to a fluid situation regarding the ongoing COVID-19 response, and at the moment the Health Careers Institute for high school students, a free seven-day summer program for high school juniors and seniors scheduled July 9-17, will take place as planned.
“The deadline for applications, originally set for April 1, has been extended to May 15 in order to accommodate the current guidelines for social distancing established by local school districts,” Midwestern stated in a March 23 news release.
Also, applicants no longer need to submit a teacher recommendation letter with their application packet. Further information on the event and application requirements is available at www.midwestern.edu/azhealthcareersinstitute.
“We will continue to update the community as the situation evolves and if anything changes with regards to the Health Careers Institute event,” the statement continued.
