Glendale’s finale to its annual holiday light display also ushers in a new year, as Glitter & Glow welcomes visitors 4-10 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 11 in Historic Downtown Glendale, 5800 W. Glendale Ave.

Guests can take in the 1.6 million LED lights, along with colorful hot air balloons glowing throughout several blocks of Historic Downtown Glendale. A highlight for visitors will be mass glows, in which the balloon pilots will fire the balloons all at once to create an illuminating spectacle.

Along with lights and glowing balloons, music is a big highlight of the event, and a variety of bands will be performing throughout the downtown area, including Randy Altergott (country and rock), Soul Power Band (Motown and R&B), People Who Could Fly (cover band, top hits), Pearl Ridge Duo (cover band, variety), Sophie Dorsten (indie folk), Blaine Long and Rosas Del Rey (bluesy rock and reggae), as well as DJ Dangerous spinning hit music all evening long. In addition, several community groups will be performing on the E. Lowell Rogers Amphitheatre stage in Murphy Park.

Free admission. Free shuttle from Glendale Community College, 6000 W. Olive Ave., which pick up from the northeast parking lots, off 59th Avenue.
