April is National Water Awareness Month, and the city of Glendale invites residents to participate in Water Awareness Day this weekend.
The event starts at 9 a.m. Saturday, April 15 at the Glendale Main Library, 5959 W. Brown St.
Residents can learn about the different drought stages and how to be water wise. The free, family-friendly event will also include crafts for children, desert-wise landscape classes for adults, water conservation resources and a plant/seed exchange.
Arizona has been in a drought for more than 23 years.
Schedule of Events:
9–10 a.m.: Bird walk at the Xeriscape Garden. The award-winning garden that surrounds the library is a living example of the diversity and abundant amount of low-water-use plants available for use in planning a lush and inviting garden. 9 a.m.–1:30 p.m.: Crafts for kids, water-related exhibits for adults
