Glendale police reported Friday morning that an accident involving a motor officer will keep the northbound and southbound lanes of traffic on 59th Avenue near Olive Avenue closed for several hours.

Glendale Traffic Alert: 59th & Olive closed due to officer-involved crash

Glendale police reported Friday morning that an accident involving a motor officer will keep the northbound and southbound lanes of traffic on 59th Avenue near Olive Avenue closed for several hours.

At approximately 7:35 a.m. officers responded to the area of 5900 W. Olive regarding a collision with injury involving a motor officer patrolling on motorcycle. Police say that the officer was transported to a local hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the vehicle was not injured.

Police say that the investigation determined the officer was traveling northbound on 59th when a vehicle exited from a private drive and collided with the officer.
