Stage Left Productions, celebrating its 10th anniversary year in the West Valley, will raise the curtain on “The Outsiders” in June.

The play is a searing story of real kids in real situations with real consequences seen through the eyes of young Ponyboy, a theater press release states.

“Territorial battles between the have-it-made rich kids — the Socs — and Ponyboy’s tough, underprivileged ‘greaser’ family and friends are just a part of life,” Stage Left sums up. “But even in the midst of urban gang warfare, somehow Ponyboy can’t forget a short poem that speaks to their fragile young lives.”

The teen drama is adapted by Christopher Sergel from the book by S.E. Hinton.

Performances take place: 7 p.m. Thursday, June 5; 7 p.m. Friday, June 6; 2 & 7 p.m. Saturday, June 7; 7 p.m. Thursday, June 12; 7 p.m. Friday, June 13; and 2 & 7 p.m. Saturday, June 14.

Tickets are $25.

Stage Left Productions is located at 5930 W. Greenway Road, Suite 1A, in Glendale.
