Dancers will swing into action in Glendale for a chance to set the Guinness World Record’s largest line dancing mark.

The challenge will take place at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 12 at Desert Diamond Arena, 9400 W. Maryland Ave. The effort will take place while Phoenix-based country artist Bobby Joe Bell sings his song “Line Dancing.”

It’s all part of the inaugural Country Fun for a Cause event featuring a concert of local country musicians including Chad Freeman & The Grant Brothers, Phoenix Country All Stars, Chauncey Jones and Bell, the event founder. Net proceeds will benefit Raise Your Hands Inc., a foundation that supports and raises funds for people and families living with autism and at-risk populations.

According to guinnessworldrecords.com, the largest line dance involved 18,431 participants, and was achieved by Beijing Redance League Technology Co. Ltd., in China, in November 2015.

Dancers at the Glendale attempt must present an event ticket to participate. After the world record attempt, the concert will begin at 4:15 p.m.

Tickets start at $35, with all net proceeds supporting Raise Your Hands Inc. Tickets available at ticketmaster.com.

Visit raiseyourhandsinc.com for more information about the foundation.
