Glendale resident Max Butler earned a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt from the renowned Dr. Mikel J. Harry SixSigma Management Institute Inc.
Six Sigma is a statistical approach to continuous improvement and organizational breakthroughs. The Certified Six Sigma Black Belt is a professional who can explain Six Sigma philosophies and principles, including supporting systems and tools. A Black Belt should demonstrate team leadership, understand team dynamics and assign team member roles and responsibilities.
In addition to the Black Belt Certification, Dr. Butler, a Grand Canyon University alumnus, is an Alpha Chi academic honor society member and certified as a Project Management Professional by the Project Management Institute. Additionally, he graduated from the U.S. Army Sergeants Major Academy and attended the National Defense University Keystone program.
He is an Operation Iraqi Freedom veteran. During his service CSM (Ret.) Butler received numerous awards and decorations including two Legions of Merit and a Bronze Star. He retired from the military in 2013 after serving a nominative assignment as the Eighth Command Sergeant Major of the Arizona Army National Guard.
