The Arizona Sunrise Series is making its run back to Glendale next month.
The event, now in its ninth year, presents seven sites offering 5K races. The series got under way in May at Kiwanis Park in Tempe.
The second-to-last leg in the series visits Foothills Park, 5708 W. Union Hills Drive, Glendale. The 5K starts at 6:30 a.m. Saturday, July 30. The series will wrap on Saturday, Aug. 13 at Riparian Preserve at Water Ranch in Gilbert.
Participants get points for every event completed, with extra points being awarded based on age group and overall finish. At the end of the series the top 100 point earners, plus all participants that complete at least four of the seven series events, will be entered into the Arizona Sunrise Series prize drawing.
The Arizona Sunrise Series serves as a fundraiser for St. Mary’s Food Bank.
