Glendale police looking for 2nd vehicle from fatal Grand Avenue crash

Thought originally to be a single-car accident, detectives now say white pickup truck allegedly involved

Investigators are taking another look at the car accident that claimed the life of a Glendale teen and injured three other teens on Grand Avenue this past Thursday.

Glendale police reported that an Infiniti G35 with four minors ages 17 through 15 was allegedly traveling northwest on Grand at a speed greater than the posted speed limit at 7:19 p.m. At that time, police say, an unknown vehicle made a left turn from southwest Grand onto 53rd Avenue, and when the Infiniti attempted to avoid the left turning vehicle the Infiniti spun out of control and struck the curb in what was thought to be a single-car accident.

A 15-year-old male was pronounced deceased on scene.

According to Glendale police Tuesday night, detectives have determined there was indeed another vehicle allegedly involved in the accident.

Glendale police have obtained a video and are looking for a white, lifted Chevrolet extended cab pickup with black wheels, a black toolbox in the bed and possibly an American flag decal in the rear window. The vehicle is expected to have front end damage from this collision.

Anyone with information about this vehicle and or its driver is encouraged to call the Glendale Police Department at 623-930-3000.
