Glendale police arrest suspect in killing of mechanic shop owner

Glendale police have arrested a suspect in a fatal shooting from this past November.
GPD said Thursday that Daravon Sueing, 30, was arrested on charges of shooting and killing Reydesel “Ray” Parra.
Just after 10 p.m., on Sunday, Nov. 20, Glendale police responded to a report of a shooting near the 5700 block of North 59th Avenue. The 9-1-1 caller advised they could hear a male screaming as well as a gunshot.
Officers arrived on scene and located an adult male victim near an apartment stairwell with a life-threatening gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital, and was later pronounced deceased.
The victim was identified as 55-year-old Reydesel “Ray” Parra, the owner of Ray’s European Garage in Phoenix. The Ray’s European Garage Facebook page says the company has been “fixing European cars since 1982.”
Evidence was located on scene during the initial investigation which led to Sueing being identified as the suspect. On Wednesday, Feb. 15, homicide detectives located Sueing near the 1600 block of West Broadway Road.
He was taken into custody without incident.
Sueing was booked for one count of first-degree murder and one count of misconduct involving weapons.
Police cannot yet disclose the location where the suspect resides.
