The General Federation Women’s Club Paradise Valley Junior Women’s Club has donated funds to partner with the Peoria Pioneer Lions Club to install an engraved Friendship Bench at Kachina Elementary School, 5304 W. Crocus Drive, Glendale.

The benches are meant to help children make new friends and offer an opportunity for children feeling down and alone to sit on the benches and make new friends. The Peoria Pioneer Lions plan to place additional Friendship Benches in 16 additional elementary schools throughout Peoria and Glendale in the next few months.

This Lions group meets 7 a.m. every second and fourth Thursday for breakfast at Mercer’s Restaurant, 9720 W. Peoria Ave. Visit www.e-clubhouse.org/sites/peoriapioneeraz.
