Right-hander Eli Elliott of the Arizona Christian University Firestorm earned his way to the GSAC All-Conference team, as announced by the Golden State Athletic Conference Monday.
A native of Glendale, Elliott started off the season as a relief pitcher before becoming a key starter. The sophomore finished the regular season with a record of 5-2 and led the Firestorm in ERA, strikeouts and wins this year as well as finishing third in the GSAC with a 3.05 ERA and third in strikeouts with 80.
In addition, he was named GSAC Pitcher of the Week two weeks in a row after throwing back-to-back complete games, with one being a shutout. Elliott previously pitched for Deer Valley High School, at 18424 N. 51st Ave.
Arizona Christian is located at 1 W. Firestorm Way, Glendale.
The ACU baseball team is 31-24, including 16-16 in league play. The Firestorm battle ninth-ranked Vanguard at 6 p.m. Monday night in Irvine, California, in the GSAC Baseball Championships.
The Golden State Athletic Conference is made up of NAIA members including Arizona Christian University, Hope International University, Life Pacific University, Menlo College, OUAZ, San Diego Christian College, The Master’s University, Vanguard University, Westmont College, and William Jessup University.
