Glendale librarians challenge public to virtual Scattegories

With libraries limited to walk-through services during the coronavirus pandemic, the Glendale Library system is bringing activities to residents virtually. The library is holding a Virtual Teen Gaming Event 2-3 p.m. Tuesday, July 21 to play Scattegories over the videoconferencing app Zoom.
"Show off your vocabulary skills and see who can beat a librarian!" the library's website states.
While the virtual event is aimed at ages 12-18, other age groups are able to sign up for the even as well. Scattegories is a creative thinking and vocabulary based game requiring players to think of words that fit a specific category and start with a specific letter before the clock runs out. The more out-of-the-box the answer the better, because if any players have matching answers, they cancel each other out and neither will receive points for that answer.
