Hospital employees at Abrazo Arrowhead Campus, 18701 N. 67th Ave., were treated to an ice cream social as a thank you for their commitment to patient care during the past year of the coronavirus pandemic.
Hospital leaders took turns scooping the sweet treats while staff enjoyed a quick break from work.
“Despite the many challenges, we managed so incredibly well and helped and saved many lives,” Arrowhead Campus CEO Stephen Garner stated in a news release. “As we pass this one-year anniversary of the first COVID admission, we are so incredibly appreciative of our team. We are optimistic about the future, and will remain ready and capable to adapt to the needs of our community.”
Abrazo Arrowhead Campus, like its sister Abrazo hospitals across the Valley, remains vigilant in its determination to provide safe care for COVID and non-COVID patients alike.
Abrazo officials remind the public that delaying care and waiting to go to the emergency room can result in a greater risk of complications and lengthier recovery times if conditions are left untreated.
The hospital is open and caring for emergency patients. Inpatient and outpatient elective procedures are being scheduled as the number of COVID-19 cases trend downward. Visitor screening remains in place, with limited visitation for designated visitors in ER, inpatient and outpatient areas.
“It is important to understand that emergency care and elective procedures are medically necessary. This is essential care that can be lifesaving and life altering treatment,” Mr. Garner stated. “Delays in care may result in a greater risk of complications, disability and lengthier recovery times.”
