Glendale detectives seized several pounds of drugs and thousands of pills during a search warrant execution.

The Glendale Narcotics Enforcement Team, alongside other agencies, on Jan. 6 completed a traffic stop and served search warrants at three different locations, the department announced Thursday. During the execution of the search warrants, seven pounds of fentanyl powder, more than 16,000 fentanyl pills, 25 pounds of methamphetamine, four pounds of heroin, one gram of cocaine and two handguns were seized.

These search warrants led to the arrest of 42-year-old suspect Omar Evaristo Valenzuela Arella, who was booked on several charges, including possession of narcotic and dangerous drugs for sale; transportation of dangerous drugs for sale; misconduct involving weapons-possession by a prohibited possessor; and money laundering.
