Posted

The National Weather Service issued an Excessive Heat Warning for Thursday, Sept. 9, and temperatures will remain very hot over the next few days.

Highs in Glendale are forecast for 109 (Thursday), 106 (Friday), 109 (Sunday), 108 (Monday) and 106 (Tuesday).

The Salvation Army Emergency Disaster Services will activate a heat relief station from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday at the Glendale Corps Community Center, 6010 W. Northern Ave., where anyone in need can go for indoor cooling and hydration.

Since May, The Salvation Army has provided heat relief to nearly 38,000 people and given out just shy of 100,000 bottles of water to people in need.

To donate to help neighbors in need facing the summer heat, visit SalvationArmyPhoenix.org or text HEAT to 51555. To volunteer at a heat relief station call 602-267-4100.
