Glendale awarded $500K to support local law enforcement

The city of Glendale was awarded a $500,000 U.S. Department of Justice grant that supports the hiring of additional full-time law enforcement professionals.

The U.S. Department of Justice’s Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) Hiring Program is a competitive award program that aims to reduce crime and advance public safety through community policing.

COPS provides funds directly to local law enforcement agencies to hire new or rehire additional career law enforcement officers and therefore increase their community policing capacity and crime prevention efforts.
