Glendale Aquatics ready for summer season
Posted
Glendale’s two aquatics facilities and splash pad are available all summer long.
Recreation Swim
The city’s two facilities, Rose Lane Aquatics Center (5003 W. Marlette Ave.) and Foothills Recreation & Aquatics Center (5600 W. Union Hills Dr.), will be opening for the summer swim season Saturday, June 1, and will run through Aug. 3. Foothills, which offers year-round lap-swimming, will offer the following summer hours of operation: 1-5 p.m. Monday - Thursday; 1-7 p.m. Friday; noon-5 p.m. Saturday; and 11:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Sunday. Rose Lane will be open 1-5 p.m. Tuesday-Friday; 1-6 p.m. Saturday-Sunday; and closed Monday.
This year, the city will again offer special “Discount Days” at the Rose Lane Aquatics Center only. This means that anyone, regardless of residency or age, can swim for $1.50, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Admission prices for Foothills Recreation & Aquatics Center, and Friday-Sunday admittance to Rose Lane are:
• Ages 2 and under: free
• Ages 3-17: $2.50 resident/ $3.50 nonresident
• Ages 18-54: $5 resident/ $6 nonresident
• Ages 55+: $3 resident/ $5 nonresident
Splash Pad
The city’s splash pad, located at Heroes Regional Park (83rd Avenue and Bethany Home Road) will be open 11 a.m.-7 p.m. daily May 25-Aug. 11. Beginning Aug. 17 through Sept. 2, it will be open weekends only between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. There is no admission fee for the splash pad.
