Mesquite Fresh Street Mex, a Mexican restaurant with nine Valley locations, has partnered with the American Red Cross throughout February to raise much-needed blood donations.
From Feb. 1-12, the American Red Cross’ Phoenix chapter will distribute free taco cards courtesy of the restaurant to blood donors during select drives at the nonprofit’s Phoenix location and other venues across the Valley. A card can be redeemed for two free street tacos of choice at any Mesquite location.
“Right now, the American Red Cross is experiencing an all-time low in signups for blood donations,” Jason Benedict, American Red Cross regional blood donor executive, shared in a press release. “We encourage everyone to make an appointment and help those in need of blood.”
Mesquite Fresh Street Mex will attend the blood drive scheduled Thursday, Feb. 1 at the American Red Cross Greater Phoenix location, at 4747 N. 22nd St., Suite 100, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. to personally distribute free taco cards and interact with donors.
“We’re so thankful for our incredible patrons, who have rallied support again and again for community members in need, most recently during our Toys 4 Tacos toy drive for foster children and fundraiser during Breast Cancer Awareness Month benefitting Susan G. Komen last year,” Ahmad Alatrash, Mesquite Fresh Street Mex co-founder, stated. “This February, we’re excited to partner with the American Red Cross to provide another opportunity for people to give back and inspire life-saving blood donations.”
Free taco cards will be available to donors at the following blood drive in Glendale hosted by the American Red Cross during February:
Friday, Feb. 9: Agave Branch Library, 23550 N. 36th Ave.
