The New and Related Services Division of the Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE) announced Scott Bohall as the Business Person of the Year.

This award recognizes his contributions to the Academy of Entrepreneurship at Mountain Ridge High School in Glendale. Award winners are honored for their demonstrated leadership in improving CTE. Also recognized is their commitment to preparing teachers to deliver high quality CTE, Career and Technical Education, programs to benefit students and the communities they attend.

Bohall is the owner of Treasures Custom Jewelers in Glendale, 20221 N. 67th Ave., Suite E2. He has been a member of the National Academy Foundation Advisory Board for Mountain Ridge for more than six years.

He created a scholarship program to honor outstanding academy seniors. His dedication to the school, CTE and the Academy were among many reasons for his nomination. His contributions helped the school program to earn the Distinguished Academy honor this year.

Schools with Academy Programs are members of the New and Related Services Division which includes several content sections. These sections represent individuals from emerging areas of career and technical education unrelated to an established ACTE Division or individuals from areas that provide specialized support to broad areas of CTE that often cut across all divisions.

Mountain Ridge HS is located at 22800 N. 67th Ave., Glendale, and is part of the Deer Valley Unified School District.

ACTE is the nation’s largest not-for-profit association committed to the advancement of education that prepares youth and adults for successful careers.
