100 cancer survivors will be honored in an upcoming Arizona Cardinals halftime show in Glendale.
During halftime of the Cardinals game against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday, Oct. 8 at State Farm Stadium, the NFL’s Crucial Catch: Intercept Cancer program will honor those invited. The program is sponsored by Cigna Healthcare.
Participants will take the first ceremonial steps for this year’s American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer of Phoenix and walk across the State Farm Stadium field.
The Cardinals and Cigna Healthcare are working together for the 14th consecutive year to educate the community about the importance of preventive screenings and early detection.
Fans are invited to Cigna Healthcare’s booth before the game from 10 a.m. to noon on the Great Lawn. They can have their picture taken on an interactive green screen photo booth with Arizona Cardinals cheerleaders and Cardinals alumni.
There will be skin cancer screenings and a sunscreen station, and representatives from Check for a Lump, a breast health education and support organization for people with breast cancer, will be there to educate people on preventive cancer care.
The game kicks off at 1:05 p.m.
