Brelby planning new platform for online productions

For the sake of safe precautions during the COVID-19 pandemic, Glendale’s Brelby Theatre Company said on June 5 that it “is not opening. Not any time soon,” but also announced that the nonprofit is pivoting its artistic ventures to include digital production.

The theater, located in Historic Downtown Glendale at 7154 N. 58th Drive, announced the establishment of Brelby Productions, a virtual content branch of Brelby.

“We are excited about the possibilities of what this can do for Brelby’s content and exposure beyond the West Valley community,” the theater stated in a news release. “We are currently rolling out a new online sketch comedy show ‘Just the Sketchy Bits,’ are in the writing stage of an original web series about the theatre world, are rolling out a talk show to highlight the AZ arts community called ‘Finding Your Light,’ and have several additional projects in the works from music videos to artist spotlights and beyond.”

The theater also will be transitioning its subscription platform to be hosted through Patreon; a membership platform that allows patrons to support their favorite creators through monthly memberships.
