Banner Health’s first Health Center ‘plus’ opens in Glendale

Campus provides one-stop health care for many needs

Banner Health opened its first “Banner Health Center plus,” a $65 million project with developer partner NexCore Group, in Glendale on April 22.

The facility, that will provide a wide range of services to make health care more convenient, will begin seeing patients Monday, April 26.

The Health Center plus, a first for Banner, at 7701 W. Aspera Blvd., will provide primary care and a full array of specialists in addition to advanced imaging equipment, laboratory services, pharmacy, community classrooms, concierge-style services and a café all in one location. On-site specialty care includes orthopedics, general surgery, vascular surgery, endocrinology, gastroenterology, obstetrics/GYN and behavioral health.

The new campus, which features a three-story, 130,000 square-foot building, is located at the northwest corner of 78th Avenue and the Loop 101.

“Banner Health Center plus is more than just a new building,’’ Banner Health’s chief operating officer Becky Kuhn stated in a news release. “It represents an integrated approach to providing health care services. It is a place where several hundred Banner team members are all working together seamlessly and hassle-free for our customers.”

The campus represents the collaboration between physicians, clinicians and operational leaders to create a convenient system, she said.

“This is an incredibly unique project and we really value the collaboration between Banner Health and the local leaders. The real beneficiaries of this are members of the community who can come to this one place for a very high level of care,’’ stated Todd Varney, chief development officer and managing partner of NexCore, a Denver-based national healthcare development group that partnered with Banner in development of Banner Health Center plus.
