AT&T is installing antennas inside and outside State Farm Stadium in Glendale to prepare for extra digital coverage for Super Bowl 57.

A news release states that network connectivity prep and expansion will make it easier for fans to stream or upload content on the network.

The additional coverage in Glendale includes:

• Deploying more than 2,000 wireless network antennas serving the interior of the stadium to deliver network coverage and capacity to seating areas on all levels.

• Boosting network capacity throughout the stadium interior for fast data experience by adding AT&T 5G+, 5G mmWave, and C-Band spectrum.

• Outside of the stadium, AT&T has deployed 64 outdoor antennas supported by 15 miles of fiber and power cables to cover the parking/tailgating and Westgate area.

• Hotel locations in the near vicinity to the stadium have been equipped with iDAS networks (indoor distributive antenna systems) to provide customers with wireless service during their stay.

Super Bowl 57 kicks off in Glendale at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 12.

The company shared that at last year’s Super Bowl in Los Angeles, AT&T customers used 13 TB of data before, during and after the game, and completed 112,000 voice calls around the stadium.

To break it down, 13 TB of data is the equivalent of streaming nearly 4,000 hours of music, firing off about 150,000 emails, or streaming high-def videos for more than 1,500 hours, according to AT&T.
