Julie Bowman is the hospital’s new chief nursing officer and Shalen Young is chief financial officer.

An accomplished nurse leader with a strong focus on patient-centered care and clinical excellence, Ms. Bowman brings nearly 40 years of nursing leadership experience to Abrazo Arrowhead Campus. She most recently served as senior vice president of Patient Care Services and chief nursing officer at Phoenix Children’s Hospital, where she was responsible for improving key quality metrics, patient safety, employee and patient satisfaction.

She earned her Master of Science in Nursing degree from Drexel University College of Nursing and Health Professions in Philadelphia. Ms. Bowman has also held chief nursing officer positions at Havasu Regional Medical Center in Arizona and Lima Memorial Health System in Lima, Ohio.

Mr. Young brings hospital financial management experience to Abrazo Arrowhead Campus, and will oversee the hospital’s finance, case management and materials management teams. He most previously served as chief financial officer for Arizona Specialty Hospital, and has also held several key financial leadership positions for Banner Health and the Cleveland Clinic. He earned his MBA and Bachelor’s degrees in finance from Arizona State University.

“We are tremendously excited for Julie and Shalen to join our team and extend to them a warm Arrowhead welcome,” Abrazo Arrowhead Campus CEO Stephen Garner stated in a news release. “I’d also like to thank Omar Pineda for serving as interim CNO in addition to continuing role as our chief operating officer.”

Abrazo Arrowhead Campus is a teaching hospital that serves the Northwest Valley as a destination for maternity and newborn care, cardiovascular and orthopedic services, and minimally invasive and robotic surgical services.
