Two new principals are coming aboard Deer Valley Unified School District campuses for the 2025-26 academic year.

Las Brisas Elementary, at 5805 W. Alameda Road, in Glendale, will welcome Alisha Kellum as its new principal. The K-6 campus is on the far north end of town.

“Thank you so much for this opportunity and I am so excited to get started and work with the community at Las Brisas,” Kellum told the DVUSD governing board at Tuesday night’s meeting.

Also new to the principal’s office is Melissa Sepuka, who will assume the leadership role at New River Elementary School, 48827 N. Black Canyon Highway. The PreK-6 campus is located in New River in northern Maricopa County.

“Thank you so much for this wonderful opportunity,” Sepuka said. “I look forward to collaborating with the New River community.”
