2 men killed in 4 separate Glendale weekend shootings

The Glendale Police Department responded to four separate shooting incidents over the long weekend, two of which resulted in deaths. They are:

  • A homicide at 1:13 p.m. Friday, Jan. 17 in the 6300 block of North 64th Drive. Patrol Officers responded to a report of a 48-year-old adult male subject down in the living room of an apartment home near the above address. Officers arrived and found the victim with a gunshot wound. Glendale Fire attempted life-saving measures but he was pronounced deceased on scene. The victim has been identified as 48-year-old Desmon L. Farrington. Suspect(s) are outstanding and the investigation is ongoing.
  • A shooting resulting from an aggravated assault at 8:23 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, 2024 in the 5700 block of West Vogel Avenue. The 53-year-old male victim in this incident, drove to the 43-year-old male suspect’s residence to confront him about an adult woman they have both been romantically involved with. An argument ensued in front of the house, resulting in the suspect shooting the victim as the victim had his hands in his own pockets. After being shot, the victim fled to a nearby business, and the suspect called police. The suspect assumed the victim had a handgun in his pocket, but never saw the victim with a firearm. The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital. The suspect was booked for aggravated assault, felony disorderly conduct and unlawful discharge of a firearm.
  • A shooting/armed robbery at 8:17 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 18 in the 6300 block of 47th Avenue. A 23-year-old male victim was walking home from a nearby fitness center, when he was chased into a condominium complex. The suspect stole victim’s gym bag shot him once and fled northbound. The victim was transported to the hospital and was last known to be in stable condition. Suspect(s) are still outstanding and the investigation is ongoing.
  • A homicide at 8:41 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 18 in the 17500 block of North 67th Avenue. Patrol officers responded to this area of Glendale for a report of a shooting with two victims. The victims are a 28-year-old male and a 35-year-old-male. When officers arrived, they located the men in the parking lot with gunshot wounds. Both subjects were transported to local hospitals with life threatening injuries. At the hospital, 35-year-old, Zachary William Berkeley was pronounced dead. The investigation is ongoing.
