Gilbert is seeking public input on the fiscal years 2025-2029 Community Development Block Grant and Home Investment Partnerships Program consolidated plan, as well as the fiscal year 2025-26 annual action plan.
Community members have until Wednesday, April 2, to share feedback on the draft plans.
The Consolidated Plan outlines our community's needs and objectives over the next five years to guide the allocation of federal resources through the CDBG and HOME programs.
These plans, required by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, help Gilbert secure federal funding to support projects that enhance housing options, strengthen community development and improve the quality of life for low and moderate-income residents.
Over the next five years, Gilbert has proposed using CDBG and HOME funds for the following key areas:
- Neighborhood revitalization — Targeting aging infrastructure, enhancing ADA accessibility, and supporting low-income homeowners in Gilbert’s Northwest area and Downtown Heritage District.
- Affordable housing and access to public facilities — Expanding permanent affordable rental housing, increasing ADA access to public facilities, and assisting homeowners in maintaining safe and suitable living environments.
- Essential services and community development — Providing housing stability, mental health resources, education, youth programs, transportation services and workforce development through CDBG and Town General Funds.
