The Higley Unified School District's Higley Leadership Academy will host an E-Waste Day from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. April 26, offering the community a chance to responsibly recycle old electronics.
The event will take place at Higley USD District Office parking lot, 2935 S. Recker Road, and is open to all local residents.
This initiative invites individuals, families and businesses to drop off unwanted or outdated electronics, including computers, radios, cell phones, and more. The goal is to ensure that these items are properly recycled, keeping harmful waste out of local landfills and promoting sustainability within the community.
“We are excited to offer a convenient, responsible way for our community members to dispose of old electronics,” Brian Minson, event organizer, said in a release. “This event not only helps reduce e-waste but also educates our community on the importance of recycling and taking care of our environment.”
Residents can drop off a wide range of electronic devices, including computers, monitors, cell phones, radios and other small electronics. Items containing hazardous materials, such as televisions, refrigerators and appliances, will not be accepted.
This is a free event, but donations are welcome to support ongoing environmental initiatives within the Higley Unified School District. Volunteers will be on-site to assist with the collection process and ensure a smooth and safe drop-off experience for all attendees.
