Gilbert seeking public input for parks master plan

Posted

Gilbert is seeking public input as it is developing a 10-year parks and recreation master plan that will guide decision-making for future parks, trails and program offerings.

Community members are invited to share their thoughts on current and future needs to shape the future of parks and recreation in Gilbert.

The town has given the public several ways to provide feedback:

Some residents may also receive a comprehensive survey in the mail. A digital version will be available later this month at gilbertaz.gov/prmasterplan.

“Parks and recreation offerings, and the public spaces they inhabit, are a critical component to healthy and connected communities,” Gilbert Parks and Recreation Director Robert Carmona said in a release. “We’re excited to kick off the community outreach portion of the master plan, and our goal is to engage with as many people as possible to help shape the future of parks and recreation in Gilbert.”

The team is also planning several in-person meetings and will be visiting residents in parks, local restaurants, pools and recreation facilities.

Residents can learn more about the Gilbert Parks and Recreation Master Planb by following along on social media, visit the plan’s page on the town website or signing up for the department’s eNewsletter.
