Fulton Homes and radio station 100.7 KSLX are hosting the13th annual Cause for Paws Saturday, Aug. 3, in Gilbert.
This initiative, which will run from 9-11 a.m. at Gilbert Gateway Towne Center, 5110 S. Power Road, Gilbert, is dedicated to raising awareness about the dangers of hot pavement for dogs.
With the heat of Phoenix summers and the increasing number of dog owners in the area, this year's Cause for Paws aims to distribute free dog booties to help protect pets' paws from scorching sidewalks and asphalt. In 2023, Phoenix experienced 133 days of 100-degree weather or hotter.
"Seeing dogs wear booties on their daily walks is more common than it used to be, and we'd like to think Cause for Paws had a hand in that,” Fulton Homes CEO Doug Fulton said in a release. “Thousands of dog booties later, protecting the entire family during these hot Phoenix summers is still a priority for Fulton Homes."
