Arrests on campus will have chilling effect on community

Posted

The Department of Homeland Security's commencement of immigration enforcement activities at schools is pointless and cruel. This policy implies that students are criminals who endanger public safety because of their immigration status, which is completely nonsensical. Arresting kids on playgrounds and classrooms who have clearly committed no crimes will have a chilling effect on our communities and accomplish nothing for our security. School districts should do everything in their legal power to prevent DHS actions on their campuses.
