Loop 202 ramp closes at Price Road as freeway project proceeds in Chandler, Gilbert

PHOENIX – The eastbound Loop 202 on-ramp at Price Road closed Friday night for approximately two months as part of a freeway widening project in Chandler and Gilbert.

The closure will allow crews to reconstruct the ramp, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation. The ramp is scheduled to reopen by late June.

Drivers should consider using detour routes to enter eastbound Loop 202 at either Dobson or Alma School roads, ADOT officials said.

The $200 million Loop 202 Improvement Project is adding lanes and interchange improvements along Loop 202 between Loop 101 and Val Vista Drive.

This project is funded in part by Proposition 400, a dedicated half-cent sales tax that Maricopa County voters approved in 2004.

The project is scheduled under the Regional Transportation Plan managed by the Maricopa Association of Governments.
