Still time to register for Florence's Make a Difference Day
Town of Florence
Residents have through Friday to register to volunteer for Florence Makes a Difference Day.
Posted
Residents who want to be part of Florence's Make a Difference Day and want to help the community still have time to register.
The annual Makes a Difference Day offers a variety of projects for residents and volunteers to participate in. All the projects are aimed at making a positive impact on the community.
Projects may include cleaning, painting, collecting litter, digging and planting. Individuals, families and organizations can still register through Friday at https://bit.ly/3X5B1PH.
Make a Difference starts at 7 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 19 at the Viney Jones Library Community Center, 778 N. Main St.
Those who can’t volunteer can still be part of the effort by donating to one or all of four collection drives for charity:
Recycle a bike for foster kids
The town is collecting new or gently used bicycles (24 inches tall or shorter) for foster children. The public can drop off bikes from 7 to 11 a.m., Oct. 19 at the community center
The deadline for the following collection drives is Friday, Nov. 22:
Teen hygiene products
For females – facial care items, soaps, deodorant
For males – shaving cream, soaps, deodorant
Harvest Share Holiday Meal Drive
The town’s goal is to donate 400 boxes of cake mix to families in need.
Jacket drive
The town is collecting new or gently used jackets for local youth.
The first 150 volunteers to register for Make a Difference Day are guaranteed a shirt sponsored by Florence Copper. For more information, call 520-868-7040.
